Host Families Needed for Global Intern Program at St. Louis Park Public Schools!

Each school year, Park Spanish Immersion and St. Louis Park Middle School welcome Global Interns through Amity Institute, a U.S. Department of State designated BridgeUSA J-1 program sponsor and nonprofit organization with over 60 years of experience facilitating cultural exchange.

This rich exchange provides an opportunity for students and interns to learn from each other. Founded in 1962 by Dr. Ernest and Emily Stowell of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Amity Institute was established to meet the needs of world language teachers and students. They also sought to involve young people from abroad in education, family, and community life. Several decades later, Amity Institute has broadened to provide exchange programs that work toward achieving the mission of building international friendship and cultural understanding through teaching exchange.

To continue this valuable program, we are seeking host families who are willing to welcome an intern in their home for one semester. Hosting an intern offers many benefits, including enhancing Spanish in your home and supporting the St. Louis Park community. If you are interested in learning more, please consult our Host Families Frequently Asked Questions document.

If you are interested in hosting one of our Global Interns for a semester, please contact karitabentley@gmail.comkalinowski.melissa@slpschools.org, and psiamity@gmail.com.

Regardless of your circumstances, we can help make this a successful experience! Thank you for considering this enriching opportunity for both your family and our community.
